The Filson Historical Society, founded in 1884, is a privately supported historical society with a mission to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of Kentucky and the Ohio Valley. The Filson is an organization dedicated to providing historical education by providing access to a vast archival collection, weekly lectures, historical tours, exhibits, and publications. Our hours are Monday-Friday 9 am to 4:30 pm.
